Our History

In 1969 Hansen Manufacturing built a 25000 square foot facility in Clearwater Florida to support their needs for quick disconnect couplings for Coca-Cola and the beverage industry to compliment the Berea Ohio facility.

Over the years Hansen added other industries to the portfolio such as electronics, defense, consumer products and other custom molding.

In 1980, Tuthill Corporation acquired Hansen Manufacturing and made Florida and Ohio two separate businesses.  Tuthill’s financial strength and leadership allowed the Plastics Group growth into even more markets such as Automotive, Aerospace, Industrial Fluid Handling, and further growth in other markets such as Medical, Power Distribution and OEMs.

In 1997 Tuthill Plastics Group expanded it existing facility to 50,000 feet and added assembly, new injection molding machines to accommodate its growth in new and existing markets served.

In 2005, along with the entire corporation, Tuthill Plastics began its journey to Lean Manufacturing – a relentless reduction of waste and pursuit of perfection – giving our customers what they value.

Throughout this, the Plastics Group continues to hold its core values, Integrity, excellence, Responsibility, Respect, Courage and Awareness.

We continue to create a conscious company to have a seismic impact.
